Tettenborn (noble family)
The von Tettenborn are an old knightly, Thuringian, later baronial noble family from the County of Hohenstein with the headquarters of the same name in Tettenborn near Nordhausen.

The family first appears in a document in 1237 with the brothers Heinrich and Bertold von Tettenborn . The line of trunks begins Cuno von Tettenborn († 1315 (1335?)) On Tettenborn.
The Tettenborn are gender and coat of arms related to those of Liebenroth (Liebenrode), von Bleicherode and von Rüxleben.

The family's goods included Gangloffsömmern , Gehofen , Kannawurf , Nausitz (1608–1693), Rathstock (1845–1857), Seehausen , Steinsee (near Liebenrode, approx. 3 km from Tettenborn), Weißenfels , Zscheiplitz (1798–1847 ).

The family coat of arms shows a slanting black wolf rod in silver (three wolf rods 2: 1 also possible). On the helmet with black and silver covers a golden scepter between open black flight .
