The Tetterweinbachtal was formed by the Tetterweinbach of the same name . The source of the creek called Hranický potok in the Czech Republic is located below Hranice (Czech Republic) at 540 m nm. The creek flows into the White Elster between Adorf and Rebersreuth.
The Tetterweinbachtal is located in the upper Vogtland . The Vogtland Panorama Weg uses the hiking trails through this natural valley. The valley touches the Adorf villages Gettengrün and Freiberg . The name Tetterwein (Todtenweinbach) is probably based on a bloody battle in the Schmalkaldic War .
The valley areas are part of the FFH area No. 5639-301 " Tetterweinbachtal, Pfaffenloh and Zeidelweidebach " with a total area of 127 ha . Further components of this Saxon FFH area are Pfaffenloh and the Zeidelweidebach .
