The Filialkirche Mariä Konzept is the Catholic village church of Zulling , a district of the city of Landau an der Isar in the Lower Bavarian district of Dingolfing-Landau . Designed in the Romanesque style, the stately church in the center of the village was completed in the second half of the 15th century and is therefore attributable to the late Gothic style. On the chancel arch , the year is 1478. The church is at the Bavarian State Conservation Office as a monument registered with the number D-2-79-122-88. The patronage of the Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8th.

The retracted choir adjoins the small three-bay hall building in the east . The four-storey, late-Gothic saddle roof tower rises up on the west side of the nave . The upper three floors are divided by pointed arches that contain light slits and sound openings. On the south side of the nave there is a small porch in the western yoke , and the sacristy on the south side of the choir . The two-lane pointed arch windows contain elaborate tracery .

The late Gothic high altar, designed as a winged altar , contains a life-size figure of the Mother of God , surrounded by four female saints on a gold background. Scenes from the life of Mary are depicted on the wings.

Devil's kick from Zulling

Behind the church, on the north side, you will find Zulling's Devil's Step , also known as Zulling's Victim's Step . These are two grass-free footprints in the lawn. A medieval legend has grown up around them. After that, particularly wealthy knights lived in a castle on the Isar. A valuable church was part of their property. According to legend, this was robbed. While jumping out of the north window of the church, the robber and the stolen goods were struck by lightning. Since then, no more grass has grown in the footsteps that were left behind.
