Attractions

Teviot Woolshed

In Teviot are the remains of the Teviot Woolshed , a former huge shed that was used to shear sheep and store wool. The shed was built in 1870 and burned down to the remains of the wall on November 11, 1924. The structure was 137 m long and 47.30 m wide and could hold 8,000 sheep for shearing. The gable and side walls that have been preserved were made of stone and the roof of the building, originally made of wood, came from a former train station in Great Britain.

Lonely Graves

On the Horseshoe Bent of the Clutha River , south of the settlement, there are two graves marked Somebody's Darling and William Rigney near the former mines . Rigney is said to have found a dead young man on the bank in 1865 after a flood of the Clutha River and buried him with a tombstone with the inscription Somebody's Darling Lies Buried Here . When Rigney died in January 1912, he was buried next to it at his request.
