Tex Rudloff

Walter Cecil "Tex" Rudloff (born August 8, 1926 in Coleman , Texas , † October 10, 2015 in Sherman Oaks , California ) was an American sound engineer .

Life

Rudloff began his career in the late 1960s. He made his debut in Sydney Pollack's drama Only Horses Are Given the Gunshot in 1969. In the 1970s, he worked on classics such as Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver and John Carpenter's Halloween - The Night of Horror . 1979 he worked for The Buddy Holly Story , together with Joel Fine , Curly Thirlwell and Willie D. Burton for the Oscar in the category Best Sound nominated. After the film drama My Father - My Friend , Rudloff retired from the film business.

Rudloff also worked in the background of the film business. He chaired the Cinema Audio Society and was treasurer of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences . He died in 2015 at the age of 89. His son Gregg was also a successful sound engineer who won three Oscar for Best Sound.
