Thabazimbi ( English Thabazimbi Local Municipality ) is a local municipality in the Waterberg district of the South African province of Limpopo . The seat of the municipal administration is in Thabazimbi . John Michael Fischer (Thabazimbi Residents Association) is the mayor.
The community is named after the North Sotho phrase "Thaba ya Tsipi", which means "mountain of iron", referring to the iron ore mines in the local mountains.
In the local elections in 2016 , a coalition of the Democratic Alliance, Economic Freedom Fighters and other parties replaced the African National Congress .
