Thaddeus Golas (born June 15, 1924 in Paterson , New Jersey , † April 16, 1997 in Sarasota , Florida ; full name Thaddeus Stanley Golas ) was an American author. He achieved particular fame with the bestseller "The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment" ( Eng . "Enlightenment doesn't care how you get it" ).

Life

Thaddeus Golas was born on June 15, 1924, the youngest of five children. Both parents were of Polish descent. His father died at the age of 4 and his mother remarried 6 years later, but his stepfather soon also died of tuberculosis .

After his military service from 1942 to 1944, Golas studied at Columbia University ( New York ), among others with Jacques Barzun literature and cultural studies . He then worked as a proofreader and editor for several publishers in the USA. In 1972 he published the bestseller "The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment" (dt. " The Enlightenment is there no matter how you erlangst " ), a book on spirituality and consciousness , which in the New Age was well received movement. Golas preferred to use metaphors from physics and cybernetics , thus creating a connection between cosmic processes and their interaction with human consciousness.
