Thalkirch is a hamlet in the political municipality Safiental in the Surselva district of the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland . It is 1686  m above sea level. M.

The hamlet is located on the valley floor in the rear part of the Safien valley , in the area of ​​the former municipality of Safien , between Piz Tomül and Bruschghorn . Thalkirch is connected by mule tracks over the Güner Lückli with Duvin , over the Tomülpass with Vals and over the Safierberg with Splügen .

In the Middle Ages, Thalkirch, under the name Malönnia, was one of the four “Pürten” (also “Burden”) or neighborhoods of the Safiental with Camana, Zalön (square) and Gün with Salpänna (Neukirch ). The church of Thalkirch (St. Maria, St. Three Kings, Theodul and others) is first mentioned in 1441.

The 300-year-old Walser Berggasthaus Turrahus is located in Thalkirch ( 1686  m above sea level ). A postbus line serves the Safiental every two hours from Versam train station to Thalkirch (in summer to Turrahus, in winter to Turrahus with registration).
