The Thamserku is a six-thousander in the Khumbu region in Nepal , east of Namche Bazar and south of Tengboche in the so-called Hinku Himal .
The Thamserku is connected to its eastern neighbor, the Kantega , by a ridge . Both mountains form a prominent southern panorama on the trekking routes starting from Namche Bazar. The Phungi Glacier flows from its intermediate ridge in a north-easterly direction , and at lower altitudes it merges into a glacier stream , the Phungi Khola .
The mountain was first climbed in 1964 by New Zealanders Lynn Crawford, Peter Farrell, John McKinnon, Richard Stewart.
The two Russians Alexander Gukov and Alexey Lonchinsky made the first ascent of the southwest face in 2014. You were awarded the Piolet d'Or for this achievement .
