The 1917 Houston Riot, also known as the Camp Logan Mutiny, resulted in the deaths of 11 civilians, five police officers and four soldiers. The soldiers were charged with mutiny in three courts-martial. 19 of them were executed and 41 sentenced to life imprisonment. The 24th Infantry Regiment was composed mainly of African American soldiers. It existed from 1869 until its dissolution in 1951.

The film was directed by Oscar winner Kevin Willmott , who co- wrote the script with Trai Byers , which in turn stars in William Boston.

The film was due to premiere in the Narrative Spotlight section at the South by Southwest Film Festival in March 2020 .
