The Alligator Wine is a German classic rock band from the Black Forest .

history

The band was founded in 2016 by the singer Roberto Vitacca and the drummer Thomas Teufel. Vitacca was the singer in the band Lacrimas Profundere from 2007 to 2018 . In the founding year, the EP Swamp Arena became on November 21st . In November 2018 the band signed a contract with the record label Century Media . On January 25, 2019 the second EP The Flying Carousel was released , which was produced by Kristian Kohlmannslehner . This was followed by a tour in the opening act for The Picturebooks . Two tracks recorded during a concert in Frankfurt am Main were released on June 28, 2019 as a live single The Reptile Experience - Live from Frankfurt . The debut album Demons of the Mind , also produced by Kristian Kohlmannslehner, was released on April 24, 2020.

style

The Alligator Wine play blues- inspired classic rock without stringed instruments . Instead of an electric guitar and an electric bass , the band uses a Hammond organ or an analog Moog synthesizer . Krautrock , Space Rock and Alternative Rock are named as further genres . The aim of the musicians was to combine the mood of experimental music with a certain modern pop appeal.

According to Andreas Schiffmann from the German magazine Rock Hard, The Alligator Wine sound “like The Doors with really big eggs and without drugs ”. The band reserves "a variety of ideas that bands with sometimes three guitarists can only dream of". Frank Thießies from the German magazine Metal Hammer described the music of The Alligator Wine as a “sound carpet between classic, psychedelic rock and herb rock”. Regarding the "catchiness and danceability" he compared the band with Mando Diao .
