The Butterfly Circus is an American short film produced by Joshua and Rebekah Weigel in 2009. The total production with over 150 people took only 12 days. The locations chosen were San Gabriel Mountains, Riverside, Palmdale and Santa Clarita in Southern California. By July 2010 the film had over 7 million clicks on Youtube. Nick Vujicic , a native of Australia, was born with no arms or legs and wasnamed Best Actor in the role of Willat the Method Fest Independent Film Festival (in Calabasas, California) .

Mr. Mendez, the director of the "Butterfly Circus", travels through the country with his actors. In another circus he goes to a freak show where, in addition to Siamese twins and a woman with a beard, he also sees a man without arms and legs: Will. Instead of insulting him like the others, Mr. Mendez walks up to him and tells him he is wonderful. The next day Will flees on a truck from the "Butterfly Circus". With them he learns that there is no freak show at this circus. The employees do escape tricks and similar tricks. Mr. Mendez says that the other artists were also all outcasts and eccentrics who found a new home with their skills in the Butterfly Circus. Mr. Mendez encourages Will to find out what he could do. By chance, Will finds out that he can swim. So the show expands - Will jumps 15 feet into a small pool of water. The people are excited. A little boy who walks on crutches himself comes to him after the performance and hugs him gratefully.
