The Cambridge Modern History

The Cambridge Modern History is a history of modern times (from the 15th century) at Cambridge University Press (CUP).

The first Cambridge Modern History was planned by Lord Acton and published in 14 volumes from 1902 to 1912, including an atlas (2nd edition of the atlas 1924). The editors were Stanley Mordaunt Leathes , Adolphus William Ward and George Walter Prothero . The period covered was 1450 to 1910.

The The New Cambridge History Modern appeared in 14 volumes (including Atlas) 1957-1979 and dealt with the period 1450 to 1945. It was published simultaneously at CUP and Macmillan, New York.

At CUP, the Cambridge Ancient History and the Cambridge Medieval History followed .
