The Catch is an American television series that premiered on ABC on March 24, 2016 . The series was conceived by Jennifer Schuur, and ShondaLand, the production company of Shonda Rhimes, is behind the project as the producing studio , with the series being the fourth project of the studio in the ABC program.
In May 2016, the series was extended for a second season. After it was broadcast, the series was canceled.

The series is about Alice Vaughan, a fraud investigator who investigates cases for a large insurance company. Despite this work experience, she almost fell for the marriage fraudster Christopher Hall, which is one of the many pseudonyms of the con artist Benjamin Jones, who just ran off with all her savings. The hunt for her ex-fiancé begins, but the investigator also carries her secrets with her.
