The film producer Charlie Berns thinks about suicide. He promises his nephew that he will film the script of a biography of Benjamin Disraeli written by this . Berns signs a contract with the studio for a $ 100 million production cost without reading the script.

It is announced that a well-known action star, an African American , is set to play the lead role. Without his participation as a draft horse, Berns could not finance the production. Berns works with Deidre Hearn, who sees through him, but still gives the project opportunities. The main actor is kidnapped, whereupon Berns and Hearn look for the actor.
