The Flying Eyes are an American psychedelic rock band from Baltimore , Maryland that was formed in 2007.

history

The band was founded in 2007 and consisted of the 18-year-old singer William Kelly, as well as the 19-year-old Adam Bufano (electric guitar, organ), Mclean Hewitt (bass) and Elias Schutzman (drums). The Flying Eyes EP followed at the end of 2008 , before the next EP followed in 2009 with Winter . Then the German label World in Sound became aware of the group and signed them. In 2009 the two EPs were released in the form of a self-titled debut album. This was followed by an international tour, before the second album Done So Wrong followed in 2011 . After switching to Noisolution , the album Lowlands was released in 2013 .

style

According to laut.de, the band play a mixture of Jefferson Airplane , The Beatles , Iron Butterfly and Cream . The singing reminded me of Jim Morrison . The music is based on that from the late 1960s. According to Frank Thiessies of Metal Hammer, the band play Lowlands with creaking guitars altered with fuzz and vocals that are a mixture of Jim Morrison and John Garcia . The band play rock music inspired by the late 1960s, with influences from bands like the early Black Sabbath , The Doors, and The Animals being audible.
