The Hi-Line is an American drama film directed by Ron Judkins in 1999 .
action
Vera Johnson lives in a small town in Montana ; she wants to move away and work as a model . Johnson meets Sam Polvino, who claims to be a talent scout for a Chicago department store. Johnson's parents Laura and Clyde try to drive the man out of town.
Vera learns from Polvino that she has been adopted and that Laura and Clyde are not her biological parents at all. He proves this with a letter he has. It turns out that an imprisoned friend asked him to find Vera. Vera's biological father is serving in the same prison as Polvino's friend and is dying.
Vera and Sam fall in love. She meets her real mother, the Singing Bird Indian woman , who lives in a shabby area known as Hi-Line .
Reviews
James Brundage wrote on www.filmcritic.com that director Ron Judkins was known as a sound expert. The story is " hair-raising simple ", but the film is " surprising " not particularly bad. Ryan Alosio plays " very impressive ". Large parts of the film are original, but it ends according to the well-known Hollywood pattern.
Awards
Ron Judkins was established in 1999 for the Grand Jury Prize of the Sundance Film Festival nominated. Ryan Alosio won the 1999 Austin Film Festival Audience Award in two categories. Rachael Leigh Cook and cinematographer Wally Pfister won 2000 Santa Monica Film Festival awards .
