The Marbles
The Marbles were a British rock duo that lasted from 1968 to 1969.
history
Graham Bonnet (born December 23, 1947 ) and Trevor Gordon (born May 5, 1948 - January 9, 2013 ) were cousins. You were born in Skegness , Lincolnshire , UK . While Bonnet stayed in the UK, Trevor Gordon grew up in Australia. Gordon made a few television appearances when he met the Bee Gees in 1964 . By 1965 they recorded four songs with him. In 1967 Graham Bonnet formed a group called "Blue Sect". He asked Trevor Gordon to become a member of his band and Gordon accepted the offer. In 1968 they signed a contract with the Australian music and film producer Robert Stigwood under the name "The Marbles" . They were friends with the Bee Gees. Barry and Maurice Gibb also wrote six songs for this duo and sang in the background. Only "Only One Woman" was a bigger hit. This ballad landed at number 5 on the British charts in November 1968. The number was also quite successful in other European charts: No. 5 in Switzerland, No. 14 in Belgium and No. 6 in the German charts. In 1969 the Marbles separated again. While Trevor Gordon retired from the music business, Graham Bonnet became a singer with Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow in 1978 , gave a brief interlude as a singer in the Michael Schenker Group in 1982 and founded Alcatrazz in 1983 .
Worth mentioning
Only One Woman has been covered several times. The Swedish rock group Alien thus had a No. 1 hit in Sweden and Uwe Ochsenknecht landed with his version at number 21 in the German charts and the Swiss hit parade in 1992.
