A killer mimics the Jack the Ripper murders . The police suspect John Wesford, a young doctor. The doctor is later murdered.

The doctor's twin brother, Rick, sees the real killer in his nightmares. He uses the knowledge so gained by looking for the murderer on his own.

Reviews

Patrick Byrne wrote in the 'Apollo Guide' that the film is not as simple as it seems. It is a psychological thriller that works well thanks to the subtle portrayal of James Spader. Cynthia Gibb's only job is to please the eyes of the audience. Byrne praised Rowdy Herrington's 'powerful' and 'gifted' direction.
