In high school, Melissa, known as Mel, was madly in love with her favorite boy, Drew Hesler. But this embarrassed her in front of the entire school and broke her heart. When Mel is supposed to work as a PR consultant for a new restaurant, she comes across Drew of all people, who doesn't seem to recognize her. Her best friend Gabby thinks the time has come to seek revenge. Mel should flirt with him and then dump him ice cold.

Drew actually wants a private date with her after a few business meetings. Mel sees himself at the goal. However, she is now gradually feeling the affection from back then. Drew's ex-girlfriend Cara also shows interest in him again and does everything possible to scare off his new flame. Cara's persistence makes Melissa surrender. She hands the PR project over to a colleague. Drew is doing his best to get Mel back. From the scheming Cara he now also knows who Mel really is and regrets his outrage 11 years ago from the bottom of his heart. Mel is taken with his noble nature and gives him a second chance. Mel and Drew reconcile at the opening party at Drew's pub.
