The Shocks were a punk band from Berlin .

history

Founded in 1995 as Plastix in the basement of the formerly occupied house at Schönhauser Allee 20 , the band was influenced by surf and rock 'n' roll in addition to "classic" elements from punk rock and garage punk . The band became known throughout Germany and internationally, in addition to their releases, through their constant live presence, such as on tours through Switzerland , England , Austria , the Czech Republic, Hungary and the Netherlands . They also played at various festivals, such as the Force Attack , Endless Summer Open Air , Back-To-Future Festival, Punk im Pott or the Fête de la Musique in Berlin.

A tour through the USA with The Briefs and The Epoxies planned for 2003 could not be carried out because the band was not allowed to enter the airport and then had to leave the country again. This canceled tour was processed on the EP Banned from the USA.

After a break in spring 2009, the band broke up in the same year in the last lineup. At the end of 2012, a compilation of rare and some previously unreleased songs was released on vinyl.
