The Souls is a Swiss band from Thun . Their music is categorized as rock , pop and alternative rock .

history

The Souls formed in 2010 from Jay Messerli ( lead vocals ), Luk Kipfer ( guitar , vocals ), Michael Finger (guitar, vocals), Raly Scheuing ( keyboard ), Dominik Grossenbacher ( drums , vocals) and Rease Nydegger ( bass , vocals) in Tuna. The individual band members know each other from elementary school, training or from the neighboring village.

In 2010 the band released their first CD "Dresscode Love" (back then under the name Undiscovered Soul). After appearances at the Gurtenfestival 2010 and various successes at band contests (including Red Bull Rooftop Bandits), the band went on tour in England for a month. This was followed by an EP trilogy with Yellow (2013), Purple (2014) and Green (2015), which the band used for airplays on various radio stations, such as SRF 3 , and for support appearances from Lenny Kravitz , Silbermond , The 1975 and Kodaline helped.

Debut album Eyes Closed

In May 2015, together with producer Greg Collins ( U2 , No Doubt , Gwen Stefani , Kiss , Eels , Matchbox twenty ), the studio work began on the debut album Eyes Closed , which was released on August 26, 2016 and number 3 in the Swiss album charts reached.

The two singles Close my Eyes and Fighting in the Moonlight made it into the rotation of numerous Swiss radio stations again.

The following tour took the band through Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Ukraine and Singapore with highlights at Bierhübeli Bern , Waves Vienna , Reeperbahn Festival and Music Matters in Singapore.

In September 2016, The Souls were voted “Best Talent September” by Radio SRF 3.
