The Story of Joanna (alternative title: The World of Joanna ) is a sadomasochistic American porn film by director Gerard Damiano from 1975, which is one of the classics of porn film history and is in the tradition of porn chic . The film is based on the sadomasochistic novel Story of O by Dominique Aury and tells the story of a voluntary female subjugation . In order to avoid possible licensing demands, Damiano changed the title and created a mixture of a single chapter of the classic and Jean-Paul Sartre's Closed Society .

Attractive Joanna ( Terri Hall ) falls in love with Jason ( Jamie Gillis ). He lives in a gloomy Victorian estate and asks her to give herself to strangers as proof of her love. As Joanna responds to his demands, his demands become more and more far-reaching. A maledom relationship develops in which both merge. Joanna's love for her master becomes deeper the more he demands of her. This one has a death wish and tries to get her to kill him.
