The W is the third studio album by the US hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan . It was released on November 21, 2000 via Loud Records. The album debuted at number five on the American Billboard charts, and reached number one in the Top R & B / Hip Hop album charts with 301,000 albums sold in the first week. Three singles emerged from the album, which also made it into the charts, including Gravel Pit, the group's most commercially successful single to date. As with the last two previous albums, RZA was mainly responsible for the production. Guest musicians featured on the album include Busta Rhymes , Cappadonna , DJ Kayslay , Isaac Hayes , Junior Reid , Nas , Redman , Snoop Dogg and Streetlife. The W was awarded platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) .
