Themesgrund

Themesgrund was a short-lived community in the office of Schönewalde ( Elbe-Elster district , Brandenburg ) that existed from 1998 to 2001 . It was an amalgamation of the four originally independent communities of Berndorf , Dubro , Grassau and Jeßnigk . In 2001 it merged with three other communities to form the town of Schönewalde and was dissolved. At the end of 2000 it had 1,201 inhabitants.

Geographical location

Themesgrund formed the southern end of the area of Vorfläming in the old district of Herzberg and bordered in the north on the town of Schönewalde, the municipality Heideeck and the municipality Wildberg , in the east on the municipalities Werchau , Schlieben and Kolochau (all Amt Schlieben ) and the municipality Polzen ( Amt Herzberg (Elster) ), in the south to the city of Herzberg (Elster) and the municipality of Borken (also Amt Herzberg (Elster)).

In 1992 the municipalities of Bernsdorf, Dubro, Grassau and Jeßnigk merged with seven other municipalities to form the office of Schönewalde . On December 31, 1998 the municipalities of Bernsdorf, Dubro, Grassau and Jeßnigk merged to form the new municipality of Themesgrund. On December 31, 2001, the communities of Heideeck, Themesgrund, Wildberg and the city of Schönewalde merged to form the new city of Schönewalde. The office of Schönewalde was also dissolved on December 31, 2001, the city of Schönewalde became vacant. The municipality of Themesgrund was dissolved again. The four participating communities are now districts of the city of Schönewalde.
