The office Schönewalde was an office in Brandenburg formed in 1992 , in which eleven municipalities in the then Herzberg district (since 1993 Elbe-Elster district , Brandenburg) had initially merged to form an administrative association. The official seat was in the city of Schönewalde . The office was dissolved again in 2001 and the municipalities belonging to the office were incorporated into the town of Schönewalde. It had last (late 2000) a total of 3939 inhabitants.

Geographical location

The Office Schoenewalde included the areas of southern Vorflämings in county Herzberg and bordered to the north by the Office Niederer Fläming (then circle Jüterbog ), to the east by the Dahme / Mark (then county Luckau ) and the Office Schlieben , the south by the Office Herzberg (Elster) and in the west to the state of Saxony-Anhalt .

history

On August 26, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg approved the creation of the Schönewalde Office. September 1, 1992 was set as the date on which the office was established. The office was based in the town of Schönewalde and initially consisted of eleven communities in what was then the Herzberg district (in the order in which they were named in the Official Journal):

  2. Bernsdorf
  3. Proud grove
  4. Dubro
  5. Wiepersdorf
  6. Brandis including the district of Holzdorf-Ost
  7. Knippelsdorf
  8. Grassau
  9. Jeßnigk
  10. Wildenau
  11. Schönewalde

On December 31, 1998, the communities Wiepersdorf, Wildenau and Knippelsdorf merged to form the new community Wildberg . At the same time, the communities of Ahlsdorf, Brandis and Stolzenhain formed the new community of Heideeck . Also on December 31, 1998 the municipalities of Bernsdorf, Dubro, Grassau and Jeßnick merged to form the new municipality of Themesgrund .

On December 31, 2001, the communities of Heideeck, Themesgrund, Wildberg and the city of Schönewalde merged to form the new city of Schönewalde. The office Schönewalde was also dissolved on December 31, 2001, the city of Schönewald vacant. The three municipalities formed in 1998 were dissolved again and the individual municipalities involved are now districts of the city of Schönewalde.
