Theo Rörig

Theo Rörig (born June 3, 1940 in Ramsen ) is a German sculptor . He lives in Hettenleidelheim .

Life

Rörig attended the technical school for sculptors in Kaiserslautern with Kurt Schmitt , Otto Rumpf and Helmut Göring from 1954 to 1963 and passed the master craftsman examination in 1963. Since 1973 he has been working as a freelancer and member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK). In 1975 he received a culture award. In 2008 Gabriele Kriessler wrote, among other things, about his works: With the mysterious gift of making thoughts visible, Theo Rörig makes stone or metal speak. Many of his heads appear archaic - and heads are the main theme of the artist.
