Prisselberg is a place in the Altenburger Land district in Thuringia that has merged with the Mockzig area of the Altenburg district of Ehrenberg .

location

Prisselberg forms the western part of today's Mockzig ("Prisselberger Straße") and is located in the Altenburg-Zeitz loess hill country .

history

In the period 1181–1214, Prisselberg was first mentioned in a document. The place belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies from the 16th century due to several divisions in the course of its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony- Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, the place came back to the duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. After the administrative reform in the duchy, it belonged to the eastern district (until 1900) and to the Altenburg district office (from 1900). From 1918 the hamlet belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which was added to the State of Thuringia in 1920. In 1922 he came to the Altenburg district .

On October 1, 1922, Prisselberg was incorporated into Mockzig. Since then it has formed the western part of Mockzig. During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus the place came with the community Mockzig in county Altenburg at the Leipzig district , since 1990 as a county belonged to Altenburg Thuringia and opened in 1994 Altenburger in the district of the country. On June 1, 1965, Mockzig was incorporated into Ehrenberg , which on July 14, 1993 became a part of the city of Altenburg.

Economy and Infrastructure

Landesstraße 2464 , which connects the B 93 in Zehma with the B 180 in Ehrenhain , runs through the village . The place is still dominated by agriculture. The headquarters of the Mockzig agricultural cooperative with a large, modern pig fattening facility and a cowshed are located in the Prisselberg district.
