Altendorf is a location in the Kosma district of the Skat and residence town of Altenburg in Thuringia .

location

Altendorf is located directly to the southwest on the outskirts of Altenburg and is connected by the state road 1302 with the federal roads 180 , 7 and 93 . The place is in the transition from the Leipzig lowland bay to the Erzgebirge foothills , in the Altenburger-Zeitzer-Loesshügelland . Altendorf is on the right bank of the blue flood .

history

The hamlet was first mentioned as Aldindorf between 1181 and 1214 . The place was originally a round of five properties. After the village fire of 1565, only three farmsteads and the former road house remained, giving it the character of a hamlet. A large number of small ponds once existed around the place. As early as 1463, wooden pipes were laid from here to supply the Altenburg old town with water. Altendorf Ort belonged to the Wettin office of Altenburg , which was under the sovereignty of the following Ernestine duchies from the 16th century due to several divisions in the course of its existence : Duchy of Saxony (1554 to 1572), Duchy of Saxony-Weimar (1572 to 1603), Duchy of Saxony- Altenburg (1603 to 1672), Duchy of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg (1672 to 1826). When the Ernestine duchies were reorganized in 1826, the place came back to the duchy of Saxony-Altenburg. After the administrative reform in the duchy, it belonged to the eastern district (until 1900) and to the Altenburg district office (from 1900). From 1918 the village belonged to the Free State of Saxony-Altenburg , which was added to the State of Thuringia in 1920.

On October 1, 1922, the place was incorporated into the then independent city of Altenburg for the first time, but was separated again on August 1, 1924. The independent community Altendorf was subordinate to the district of Altenburg . It was not until April 1, 1935 that the hamlet was finally incorporated into Kosma, just like Kürbitz and Schlöpitz three years later , which are now a desert.

In 1953 LPG Type III Free Land was founded in Kosma. Until 1967 all farmers from Altendorf were represented in this. A timber market that still exists today was founded in 1948. In addition to this, Altendorf is primarily known for the brothel located here.

During the second district reform in the GDR in 1952, the existing states were dissolved and the districts were redesigned. Thus Altendorf came as the district of Kosma with the district Altenburg to the district of Leipzig , which since 1990 belonged to the district Altenburg Thuringia and opened in 1994 Altenburger in the district of the country. With the incorporation of Kosma into Altenburg, Altendorf became a place within the Altenburg district of Kosma on December 31, 1996.
