Theodor Vogelsang , or Theo Vogelsang for short , (born February 23, 1990 in Omsk , Soviet Union , today Russia ) is a former German football player who plays in the attacking midfield .

Career

Theo Vogelsang started playing football in the youth of the SV Veldhausen 07 club . In 2002 he moved to the youth department of the Dutch first division club FC Twente Enschede ; the youth department of FC Twente was a merger with the youth of Heracles Almelo . Vogelsang played through all youth teams by 2009 and was promoted to the second team in summer 2009.

After a year, Vogelsang moved to the second division Go Ahead Eagles Deventer on loan . He made his debut on August 16, 2010 in a 1: 2 defeat on matchday one against Sparta Rotterdam in the starting line-up; he was substituted for Joey Suk at the beginning of the second half . He came to 17 missions in the season, in which he scored two goals.

For the new season he went back to Enschede. On July 26, 2011, he made his debut for the first team in the third-round first leg of the UEFA Champions League qualifying against Romanian first division club FC Vaslui (2-0) when he came on for Steven Berghuis in the 76th minute . Then he was called up again in the KNVB Cup in the squad of the first team, but was not used.

At the end of January 2013, Vogelsang made a free transfer to the German third division team Kickers Offenbach , where he had previously completed a trial training session. He signed a contract until the end of June 2015, but moved to PEC Zwolle in early 2014 . Vogelsang only played in the reserve team there. In the summer of 2014 he joined the northern German regional league club SV Meppen , where he could not gain a foothold and left the club after a year. After a football break, he returned to his youth club SV Veldhausen for the 2016/17 season . There he ended his career in summer 2020.
