Theodor Dams

Theodor J. Dams (born May 6, 1922 in Ginderich , Moers district; † October 9, 2013 ) was a German agricultural and economist.

Life

From 1959 to 1965 Dams was head of the department for coordination of agricultural structural policy at the EEC Commission in Brussels. From 1965 until his retirement in 1990 he was full professor for economic policy and director of the Institute for Development Policy at the University of Freiburg i. Br.

From 1966 to 1975 he was a member of the Education Commission of the German Education Council , as well as a long-standing member of the Scientific Advisory Boards of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation .

He was president of the International Association of Agricultural Economists .
