Theodor Feddersen

Theodor Feddersen (born November 17, 1839 at Gut Stift near Kiel , † December 5, 1915 in Flensburg ) was a German farmer in North Schleswig and a member of the Reichstag in the German Empire .

Life

Theodor Feddersen was the sixth of ten children of the estate inspector Hans Feddersen (1801-1852) and his wife Henriette, née. Willink (1805-1851). After the death of his parents, he was taken in by his uncle Boy Feddersen at the age of twelve on Südergaarde near Hoyer in the northern part of the Duchy of Schleswig. He attended school in Hoyer and then trained as a farmer. In 1866 he became tenant of the Koxbüll Ladegaard farm belonging to his uncle. In 1872 he married Amalie Feddersen (born on September 22, 1854 in Roy bei Tondern , died on August 11, 1931 in Flensburg). The marriage had eight children. After the death of his uncle in 1883 he became the owner of Südergaarde and the neighboring Koxbüll Ladegaard, which together covered 588 hectares. He had Südergaarde rebuilt and moved there with his family. In 1907 he handed over the management of the farm to the eldest son (Hans Feddersen, 1878–1918) and moved to Flensburg.

In addition to his agricultural activities, Theodor Feddersen was head of office, member of the district council and the district committee for the district of Tondern and member of the Schleswig-Holstein provincial council . In the legislative period from 1893–1898 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the National Liberal Party , elected in the 4th constituency of the province of Schleswig-Holstein (Tondern-Husum-Eiderstedt).
