Thomas Francis Hickey (born February 4, 1861 in Rochester , New York , USA , † December 10, 1940 ) was Bishop of Rochester .

Life

Thomas Francis Hickey studied Philosophy and Catholic Theology at St. John's Seminary in Fordham and St. Joseph's Seminary in Troy . He received the sacrament of ordination for the Diocese of Rochester on March 25, 1884 .

On February 18, 1905 appointed him Pope Pius X to the titular bishop of Berenice and ordered him Coadjutor Bishop of Rochester. The Archbishop of New York , John Murphy Farley , ordained him episcopal on May 24 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Rochester, Bernard John Joseph McQuaid , and the Bishop of Syracuse , Patrick Anthony Ludden .

On January 18, 1909, Thomas Francis Hickey became Bishop of Rochester, succeeding the late Bernard John Joseph McQuaid. Thomas Francis Hickey resigned as Bishop of Rochester on October 30, 1928. Then Pope Pius XI appointed him . titular Archbishop of Viminacium .
