Thomas Heise (doctor)

Thomas Eberhard Heise (born July 22, 1953 in Nuremberg ) is a German physician , sinologist and researcher in the psychotherapeutic, ethnomedical and transcultural fields.

Life

Thomas Heise is the first son of Eberhard and Nina Heise . In 1972 he passed his A- levels at the Röntgen Gymnasium in Würzburg . After a time with the German Armed Forces, Heise studied human medicine and sinology with the minor subjects Prehistory and Early History and Classical Archeology at the universities in Würzburg, Bordeaux, Bochum, Taipei, Essen and Hamburg. He received his doctorate in 1985 as Dr. med. at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and then started a two-year DAAD scholarship in Beijing and Nanjing to study traditional Chinese medicine.

First internistic and naturopathic further education, then psychiatric and psychotherapeutic several schools; In 1999 he received his doctorate in Sinology from the University of Trier , followed by his habilitation in 2000 at the Hannover Medical School (psychiatry and psychotherapy). From 2001 he was the senior physician in charge of psychosomatic medicine in Chemnitz, and in 2004 he became chief physician of the clinic for psychiatry and psychotherapy at the Heinrich Braun municipal clinic in Zwickau . Since 2010 he has been chief physician in Shanghai at the German-Chinese Transcultural Nature Healing Health and Treatment Center.

Heise is the founder and editor of the book series The Transcultural Psycho Forum since 1997, repeatedly since 2001 the board of the Association ethnomedicine (AGEM) and head of the working group therapeutic approaches DTPPP, a non-profit umbrella organization for professional German-speaking staff and institutions in the area of Transcultural Psychiatry , Engage in psychotherapy and psychosomatic medicine. Current research projects: Cross-school use of psychotherapy, transcultural nature healing - medical concepts, Qigong - therapy - evaluation.
