Thomas Helly (born October 20, 1990 in Vienna ) is an Austrian football player on the position of a center forward .

Career

Club career

Helly began his career as an active football player in the youth teams of SC Red Star Penzing in the 16th district of Vienna Ottakring . Later he came to FV Austria XIII Vienna and from there to SK Rapid Vienna , where he was used in the youth team until 2004. From 2004 Helly attended the Frank Stronach Academy , where he passed the Matura in 2008 and then transferred to SC Schwanenstadt in the second-class first division . He came to his first professional assignments for the club. He made his debut on April 11, 2008 in the 2-0 home defeat against SC Austria Lustenau , when he came on in the 84th minute for Tomas Šimkovič . In total, he came to seven short assignments for the Schwanenstädter . When the club was renamed SC Magna Wiener Neustadt on May 19, 2008 , he remained loyal to the team. Under the club name SC Magna, he completed a game, which in turn had to be combined with a short stint. During the winter break, Helly was awarded to SV Wienerberg in the third-class Regionalliga Ost . For the club, however, he completed a game in November 2008 in which he was substituted on in the 15th minute of the game and scored two goals. To date, Helly has been in 19 championship games and came up with a number of 18 goals. During the summer break before the 2009/10 season , Helly returned from SV Wienerberg to SC Magna. At SV Wienerberg he shone with consistently good performances and scored a hat trick on May 29, 2009 in a 5-1 away win against SKU Amstetten . Because of these achievements, he was given back to SV Wienerberg as a cooperation player for the 2009/10 season . In the winter break of 2009/10 he returned to Wiener Neustadt , where he was deployed in the spring. In summer 2010 it was awarded again. This time he switched to the Vienna Sports Club as a cooperation player , also playing in the Regionalliga Ost.

From summer 2012 he was on loan with TSV Hartberg in the second highest Austrian division. After a season with the Styrians , he moved to the 1. Landesliga Niederösterreich to SC Mannsdorf (fourth highest Austrian division).

In the summer of 2014 he moved again to SV Wienerberg.

After 6 years at SV Wienerberg, he moved to TSU Obergänserndorf in summer 2020.

International

Overall, Helly came to a few appearances in the Austrian youth selection. He was u. a. U-17 national player and has already played two games for the Austrian U-19 team, in which he made his debut in 2007 and scored one goal.
