Thomas Johansson (born December 20, 1961 ) is a former Swedish football player . The striker played 115 times for AIK in the Allsvenskan and failed with the club only in the final of the Swedish championship in 1986.

career

Johansson started playing football at Håbro IF . There the striker played from 1968 to 1980. He then briefly went to third division Bro IK , who was coached by Hans Backe . From there he was committed by the first division AIK in the same year. In August 1981 he came to his first appearance in the men's team in a friendly against Arsenal . However, it was still six months before he played his first game in the Allsvenskan: In the 1-0 home win on April 24, 1982 with a goal by Jyrki Nieminen over Östers IF in the home Råsundastadionhe stood for the first time in the Swedish House of Lords on the square. The attacker had to wait until his sixth first division game before he could shoot his first first division. In the 3-2 home win over IF Elfsborg on May 31, 1982, he even managed a brace. In the following two seasons he established himself as a regular goalscorer and reached the championship playoffs twice with the team.

Before the 1985 season , Johansson had to undergo an operation and so missed half the season. The following year he played again regularly, but missed his scoring danger and scored only four goals in 17 games this season. At the end of the season, AIK moved back into the championship finals and reached the final. There the team met Malmö FF and after a 1-0 home win with a goal from Mats Olausson they were already dreaming of the championship title. In the second leg, however, MFF overran the club from Solna and won the championship with a 5-2 win. Johansson scored a goal for AIK alongside Kim Bergstrand .

In his sixth year at AIK Johansson experienced his second coach - Rolf Zetterlund was replaced by Nisse Andersson . The striker lost his regular place under the new coach and remained without a goal in 13 appearances this season. Since a total of only 15 goals were scored and the club found themselves in the lower part of the table, the coach was changed again after the end of the season and Sanny Åslund took over the traditional club. Johansson has now found his way back to his old strength and scored ten goals this season - a personal best. Since the club only scored 19 goals, it posted more than half of all goals this season. Not least because of the weaknesses of the surrounding staff, it again only reached a place in the middle of the table.

After the end of the season Johansson moved to IFK Eskilstuna . In his first training session, he suffered severe knee damage and was out for four months. Since the transfer fee was based on the number of missions and Eskilstuina was in the middle of the table and felt that he could do without his help, he returned to AIK without commitment for his new club. There he was first used as a substitute in August, but when he scored a brace against Västra Frölunda IF and thus helped convert a 0-3 halftime score into a 5-3 win, he was twice in the starting line-up and thus came to a total of five more games for AIK.

He then left AIK again and let his career with the lower class clubs Väsby IK and Huvudsta IS , where he ended his active career in 1995.
