Thomas Kohl (* 1960 in Düsseldorf ) is a German painter whose works move on the borderline between landscape painting and abstraction . After two years of language and philosophy studies at the University of Düsseldorf , Kohl studied at the Düsseldorf Art Academy from 1981 to 1988 . He is a master student of Gerhard Richter . In addition to oil paintings, watercolors and drawings, Thomas Kohl has also created works on glass since 2009, including various large-format installations for public spaces. He lives and works in Düsseldorf and Geilnau (Lahn).
