Art collections of the Ruhr University Bochum
The art collections of the Ruhr University Bochum were founded in 1975 . They are located in the building of the Bochum University Library .
The collection consists of three areas:
- the antique collection ,
- the coin collection as well as
- the Modern Art Collection, mainly with holdings of 20th century art , from artists such as Josef Albers , Alberto Giacometti , Joseph Beuys , Anthony Caro , Lucio Fontana , Günter Fruhtrunk , Gotthard Graubner , François Morellet , Arnulf Rainer , Emil Schumacher , Richard Serra , Frank Stella , Cy Twombly , Günther Uecker , Christian Boltanski , Donald Judd , Gerhard Richter , Sean Scully and James Turrell .
The art situation in Weitmar was added to the collection in 1991.
In 2008 the artist Ulrich Rückriem donated his archive to the art collections of the Ruhr University Bochum.
