Thomas Lück (born February 14, 1943 as Frieder Lück in Dranske ; † October 10, 2019 in Leegebruch ) was a German pop singer and actor .

Life

Thomas Lück was a trained electrical mechanic. At the age of 18, his career began as a refrain singer with the Manfred Lindenberg Sextet. During his service with the NVA he founded his own band and in 1964 did a successful microphone rehearsal on the radio in the GDR , where his first recording, Nimm den Nachtzug , was made in 1965 . In 1966 he had his first television production entitled Hallo Fräulein Sonnenschein . It was followed by many hits , which took top places in hit parades . One focus was on cheerful titles such as Where does the snow come from on Kilimanjaro , Why do n't you pick up the phone , I like to cook for my life , Just leave the slimming tea , Kurschatten or Kunigunde . He was successful in several GDR hit competitions and at the Baltic Sea International Schlager Festival in Rostock .

Numerous composers wrote for him, such as Arndt Bause , Rudi Werion , Ralf Petersen , Siegfried Schulte , Gerhard Siebholz , Dieter Birr and Andreas Holm . In 1969 he completed the first course of the Central Studio for Entertainment Art. In addition to pop singing, he soon worked as an actor. From 1969 to 1974 he played in television and DEFA in musicals , teasing and sketches. He was given a leading role in the movie fun game Love Traps . His first LP was released by Amiga in 1978, followed by another long-playing and 23 single records. He took part in over 100 radio and television productions.

In 1997 he started a new beginning together with his friend and colleague Andreas Holm. Both designed a tour program as a duo Holm & Lück. In the spring of 2019, Lück ended his stage career because of a skin cancer from which he had suffered for several years. He died of cancer in October of that year at the age of 76.

Thomas Lück last lived in Leegebruch near Berlin . He was married to Petra Kusch-Lück from 1967 to 1970 , to Aurora Lacasa from 1970 to 1975 and to Nina Hagen from 1975 to 1976 . In 1999 he married for the third time. He had three children from previous marriages.
