Siegfried Schulte (composer)

Siegfried Schulte (* 1935 in Potsdam ) is a German composer. He created over 150 entertainment titles and is one of the most famous Schlager composers in the GDR .

Life

Schulte completed an apprenticeship as an electrician and received his master craftsman's certificate a few years later. In his free time he was engaged in music from childhood. He took piano lessons, led his own band at the age of 18 and passed the exam as a conductor in 1966. In the 1960s and 1970s, the Siegfried Schulte Quartet was one of the outstanding East German bands that played modern swing. At the “Hanns Eisler” University of Music in Berlin , he took a distance learning course in composition and arrangement. He has been composing with great success since the mid-1960s and has been working full-time in music since 1975.

Schulte's compositions were interpreted by pop singers such as Frank Schöbel , Chris Doerk , Peter Albert , Thomas Lück , Ekki Göpelt , Gaby Rückert or bands such as the Theo Schumann Combo and advanced to great records in combination with successful texts by the authors Monika Jacobs and Dieter Lietz - Success in the GDR.

Siegfried Schultes' compositions were published by Harth Musik Verlag Leipzig (bought by the music publishers Hans Gerig KG Bergisch Gladbach in the 1990s ) and by VEB Lied der Zeit Musikverlag ( bought by Roba Music Verlag , Hamburg in the 1990s ).
