Thomas Meram

Thomas Meram (born August 6, 1943 in Telkaif , Iraq ) is the Chaldean Catholic Archbishop of Urmia and Bishop of Salamas .

Life

Thomas Meram received on 11 June 1967, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On November 30, 1983 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the Archbishop of Urmia and the Bishop of Salama . The Archbishop of archeparchy Tehran , Youhannan Semaan Issayi , gave him on 11 March 1984, the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of the Archeparchy Ahvaz , Hanna Zora , and the Apostolic Pro-Nuncio in Iran , Archbishop Giovanni De Andrea . From 2000 to 2003 he was the successor to Vartan Tekeyan as chairman of the Iranian Bishops' Conference .
