history
The Archeparchy Ahvaz was founded on January 3rd, 1966 by Pope Paul VI Erected with the Apostolic Constitution Ex quo tempore . It covers areas in southern Iran that previously belonged to the Sehna Archeparchy . Its area is bounded by the 33rd parallel to the north, by the Afghan and Pakistani borders to the east, by the Persian Gulf to the south and by the Iraqi territories to the west .
