Thomas Noetzel

Thomas Noetzel (born November 12, 1957 in Münster ) is a German political scientist .

Life

Noetzel visited u. a. the Pascal-Gymnasium Münster . After graduating from high school in 1977, Noetzel studied political science, sociology , modern history, economic and social history and education at the Philipps University of Marburg . He graduated in 1983 with a thesis on US policy on the Soviet Union in the Roosevelt era .

From 1984 he was a research assistant , from 1986 research assistant at the Institute for Political Science at the Philipps University of Marburg; In 1989 he was at Wilfried von Bredow to Dr. phil. is doing her doctorate with a dissertation on the East-West conflict .

In 1991 he became a civil servant as a research assistant . In 1998 he completed his habilitation with a thesis on the legitimation of political rule and represented the university lecturer for contemporary political theory. From 1999 to 2001 he was the managing director of the institute. Since June 2002 he has held the chair for political theory and the history of ideas at the Philipps University of Marburg . In 2010 he also took over the management of the history of ideas portal.

He has been a member of the city ​​council in Stadtallendorf since May 2015 , a member of the SPD parliamentary group and a member of the specialist committee for public security, social affairs and culture.
