Thomas Jäger (political scientist)

Thomas Jäger (born July 22, 1960 in Hanau ) is a German political scientist .

Life

From 1981 to 1986 Thomas Jäger studied political science , philosophy , sociology and history at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main , the Otto Friedrich University in Bamberg and the Philipps University in Marburg . He was born in 1990 with Wilfried von Bredow at the University of Marburg with the dissertation European New Order - Central Europe as an Alternative? to the Dr. phil. PhD . In 1995 he completed his habilitation in political science at the Philipps University of Marburg.

In 1999 he was appointed professor for international politics and foreign policy at the University of Cologne . He is a full member of the North Rhine-Westphalia Academy of Sciences and the Arts . He is also a member of the scientific directorate of the Institute for European Politics and the scientific advisory board of the Center for Military History and Social Sciences of the Bundeswehr . He is also editor of the journal for foreign and security policy (ZfAS) and the book series Global Society and International Relations . He has a guest column on Focus Online .
