Thomas Noll

Thomas Noll (born May 27, 1962 in Kassel ) is a German art historian .

Life

From 1981 to 1991 Thomas Noll studied art history , classical archeology as well as medieval and modern history in Göttingen and Heidelberg . In 1991 the doctorate followed in Göttingen.

Between 1992 and 1993 he received a research grant from the State of Lower Saxony at the Central Institute for Art History in Munich . From 1993 to 1995 Noll was a research assistant at the chair for art history at the University of Augsburg ; at the same time he was a lecturer at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen . Between 1995 and 1997 he received a postdoctoral fellowship as part of the Graduate School Church and Society in the Holy Roman Empire of the 15th and 16th Centuries in Göttingen. From 1998 to 2000 he received a research grant from the Gerda Henkel Foundation . In 2001 he completed his habilitation in Göttingen. Noll has been teaching in Göttingen since 2001 and at the Kassel Art College between 2004 and 2005 . Since 2002 he has been a member of the Göttingen Center for Medieval and Early Modern Research.
