Thomas Pichler (born May 9, 1985 in Bozen , South Tyrol ) is a former Italian ice hockey player who was most recently under contract with SV Kaltern . Pichler comes from Tramin .

Career

Thomas Pichler began his career as an ice hockey player in the youth department of SV Kaltern . In the summer of 2003 he moved to the third Finnish division to RoKi . For the following season he returned to South Tyrol and signed a contract with HC Pustertal from the Italian A1 series. With the club he was able to win the Coppa Italia and the Italian runner-up in 2011. In the summer of 2011, Teppo Kivelä took over the helm at HC Pustertal and Thomas Pichler had to vacate his place for a player from the HCP youth department.

For the 2011/12 season Pichler was of Ritten Sport obligation. From 2012 he played - interrupted by several career breaks - at SV Kaltern , for whom he was last on the ice in Serie B. After the 2017/18 season - Pichler was the last team captain - he ended his active career.

International

For Italy, Thomas Pichler took part in the U18 World Championships in Division I in 2002 and 2003 and in the U20 World Championships in 2004 and 2005 in Division I. With the Italian men's selection , he only played in the 2009 World Cup in Division I. He also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Vancouver 2010 .
