Thomas Pokorný (also Tomáš Pokorný ; born December 30, 1965 in Prague , Czechoslovakia ) is a former German - Czech ice hockey player who was active during his career for the ECD Sauerland and for the SC Riessersee in the 1st Bundesliga .
Career
Pokorný began his career in the offspring of HC Sparta Prague , where he was in the squad of the junior team from the 1982/83 season. Through the performances shown, the talent scouts of the then ECD Sauerland became aware of the left-handed shooter and transferred him to Germany in the summer of 1983. After he only went on the ice for the junior team in his first year in Iserlohn , in the following season he played for the first time for the first time in 33 games for the professional team in the then highest German ice hockey league, the 1st Bundesliga. Another season at the ECD followed before the native Czech joined SC Riessersee for the 1986/87 season. There the left shooter was able to achieve two scorer points in 25 games. Since his contract was not renewed at the end of the season, he moved to EV Duisburg . He made his breakthrough at the EVD. With 58 points scored in 29 missions, he was one of the best strikers in the league.
In the following years the offensive player went on the ice for the EHC 80 Nuremberg , the EC Kassel , the EV Ravensburg and the 1st EV Weiden . During the 1994/95 season, those responsible at ERC Ingolstadt transferred him from Weiden to Ingolstadt, with whom he was also active in the 2nd South League. After showing good performances at the ERC and one of the players with the highest points on his team, he signed a contract with ERC Haßfurt in the summer of 1996 . In Haßfurt he was able to continue to score many points and move up to the 1st League South with the Haßfurters at the end of the 1997/98 season. Pokorný stayed for another year with the ERC and then decided to change clubs. In the three years in which he wore the hat from Haßfurt, he made 133 league games and scored 94 times.
For the 1999/00 season he moved to Dortmund , where he would henceforth lace up his skates for the EHC Dortmund, which is located there . In the Westphalian metropolis he was one of the top scorers several times and was one of the top performers in the Elche team. The German-Czech scored 132 points in the 64 games he played in the fourth-class Regionalliga NRW . Further career stations in the following years were the ESC Hammer Huskies , EV Lindau and EHC Ulm / Neu-Ulm . After the 2005/06 season Pokorný ended his active career at the age of 41 before he was again active for the second team of EV Ravensburg in the regional league in the 2007/08 season .
