Thomas Proeckl

Dr. Thomas Prockl (* 9. May 1957 in Bad Homburg ) is a German football functionary from Bensheim . From 2001 to 2012 he was CFO at Eintracht Frankfurt . Between 2013 and 2014 he sat on the supervisory board of SV Waldhof Mannheim . Since May 1, 2015, Prockl has been the commercial director of SV Wehen Wiesbaden . In addition, Pröckl is currently a member of the DFL licensing committee and a member of the DFB board.

Life

Prockl grew up in the Nieder-Eschbach district of Frankfurt . After graduation, he studied industrial engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt with the conclusion of business engineering . He then did his doctorate at the University of Mannheim .

Proöckl started his professional career at ABB in Zurich and then worked for Carl Freudenberg in Weinheim , Mann & Hummel in Ludwigsburg and Heidelberger Druckmaschinen in Heidelberg .

In November 2000, Proeckl was appointed to the board of directors of the newly founded Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG , where he was the deputy chairman of the board responsible for finance. A year later, with the support of the Frankfurt economy, he prevented bankruptcy and the impending license withdrawal with the associated forced relegation from the 2nd Bundesliga . During his time at Eintracht , he was a member of the finance working group of the German Football League (DFL) . At Eintracht Frankfurt he worked on the board with Steven Jedlicki, Tony Woodcock , Volker Sparmann and Heribert Bruchhagen , before he left the club after the 2011/12 season. During his tenure, Eintracht rose three times from the 1st Bundesliga to the 2nd Bundesliga and just as often rose again. Furthermore, the club reached the DFB Cup final in 2006 and played in the UEFA Cup in the 2006/07 season .

From Eintracht Frankfurt , Prockl moved to the IT service provider Drooms, where he also worked as CFO. During this time, Prockl was an honorary member of the supervisory board of SV Waldhof Mannheim , which was playing in the Regionalliga Süd-West at that time .

Since May 1, 2015, Prockl has been commercial director at SV Wehen Wiesbaden . With him, the club rose to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2018/2019 season and back down the following year.

At the beginning of the 2019/2020 season, Prockl was elected to the DFL licensing committee. He has also been an elected member of the DFB Executive Board since the Bundestag of the German Football Association on September 27, 2019 in Frankfurt am Main .

Private

Proöckl has lived in Bensheim in southern Hesse since 1999 . He is married and has two children. His daughter Johanna is married to the professional soccer player Sebastian Rode . His son Florian is a lawyer . During his youth, Prockl played handball and was a judoka.
