Thomas Rettensteiner

Thomas Rettensteiner (born 1976 in Salzburger Land ) is an Austrian opera singer ( baritone ).

Life

He studied trombone , performing arts and singing at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with Franz Donner and Lied singing with Charles Spencer .

During his studies he sang in the independent Viennese opera scene, the Rheinsberg Castle Chamber Opera and at the Accademia Rossiniana in Pesaro .

After completing his studies, he got an engagement at the Theater Hof , where he could be seen in numerous roles for seven seasons, initially mainly in the lyrical field, later also in the dramatic subject. He sang Alfio in Cavalleria rusticana , the leading role in Nabucco , Scarpia in Tosca and Don Pizarro in Fidelio .

Thomas Rettensteiner has been employed at Theater Vorpommern since September 2012 . In the 2012/2013 season he sang the leading role in Rigoletto . Other roles here were Telramund in Lohengrin , both Figaros in The Marriage of Figaro and The Barber of Seville , Colonel Ollendorf in The Beggar Student and the title role in Don Pasquale . He sang in the role of attorney in the world premiere of Bartleby - A Tale from Wall Street in the 2014/15 season.

He currently works as Escamillo in Carmen , Renato in A Masked Ball and as Biterolf in Tannhäuser and the singer war on Wartburg .
