Thomas Rudy (born August 22, 1959 in Bad Rappenau , Heilbronn district ) is a German real estate trader and politician ( AfD ). He has been a member of the Thuringian state parliament since 2014 .

Life

Rudy trained as a restaurant specialist , cook and confectioner and trained as a chef pastry chef , kitchen master and state-certified restaurateur with a qualification as a trainer . Since 2007 he has been working as an independent real estate agent.

In August 2016 it became known that the Gera public prosecutor was investigating Rudy on suspicion of tax evasion.

Rudy lives in Gößnitz ( Altenburger Land district ).

politics

Rudy is a founding member of the state and federal association of the AfD. He is the agricultural and housing policy spokesman for the AfD parliamentary group and worked in the AfD's economic program working group . In 2014 he moved into the Thuringian state parliament via the state list of the AfD Thuringia . In March 2015 he signed the Erfurt resolution of the ethnic wing of the AfD.

Positions

Rudy is in charge of reviewing civil service applicants for previous Stasi positions.

Rudy made several racist or homophobic statements. For example, he insulted homosexuals as "Sado-Maso gays" and agreed to the racist claims made by his national spokesman Björn Höcke on the " sexual behavior of Africans ". In 2014, he left a photo of a bicycle with a swastika, whereupon he was charged with using symbols of unconstitutional organizations . He also praised a swastika excavated in Hamburg from an old Nazi memorial with the words that "good building material was probably used".

On his Facebook page, he called for the freedom of the press to be restricted: “The left-wing extremist Springerblatt Spiegel is again rushing against the AfD. The new Polish government has set limits to this lying media (70% of the Polish media were previously under this influence). I hope that we can do this in Germany too. To finally have an objective and uninfluenced media landscape again and to make these hate journalists unemployed! TR "
